I had a pleasure to photograph Formula 1 for COTA this past season.
I was a stuff photographer and a part of the team of very talented professionals for the Circuit Of The Americas, which gave me access to practically everything apart from the Pit Lane (for which you need to have a full fire proof suit and a helmet).
My day typically started at 5:30 am (getting out of bed) due to making sure to get there on time for the morning shots, and we would finish right after the concerts. It took us on average 2 hours to get home. For 3 days we practically lived and breathed Formula 1. Of course the very day of the race tends to be the most exciting and there is usually so much going on that you can not physically make it to everything, even if you want to.
I have selected a few highlights from the day of the race. I hope you enjoy them.
